America, now has completely redefined its entertainment quotient. It has started a new game show called BINGO AMERICA which is based on the good old game of Bingo. The same old game played in social events, parties and even casinos. Bingo has made its name in the online community but now its arrival in the media especially television is its greatest ever breakthrough. This show would be aired on GSN weekly.
The proceedings of the game would be like making two contestants play at a time, competing for an amount of one lakh dollars. As the show is being aired, GSN provides the option of involving viewers too in the game. The viewers can go online and play along as and when it is taking place on the show.
The show is being produced by Andrew Glassman, who is also the creative head of the show. It is being conducted by Patrick Duffy and Crystal Wallasch. The game comprises of the following sessions - It has contestants competing against each other. A numbered bingo ball drops out of a vent for each turn. The balls are numbered from 1 to 75. Each of them has one of the letters from the word Bingo.
When a ball is picked, a question is asked to the contestant and if he answers it right, the amount corresponding to the number printed on the ball is added to the contestant’s account. This is repeated for every turn. The player, who first spells the word Bingo, wins the game. Two rounds of this game are played. The winner is one who wins both of these games and he is then made to play the BONUS BOARD.
If the game is not completed within the time or if they are running short of time, a round called 50 -50 is conducted. In this the contestants are asked to answer multiple choice questions, if the contestant answers a question incorrectly, the credit is given to the opponent. If there is a tie after two games a tie breaker which has a set of five questions is asked to the contestants, the player who answers three questions correctly wins the game.
That player eventually plays the bonus board. Even audience and home viewers are involved in the game simultaneously. The members of the audience are involved in the game, by providing them T-shirts bearing specific numbers which are on the balls of the game. If that specific number is picked by the host and if the contestant answers the question correctly; then that particular audience member is made to join the player’s team.
If that player wins the game, and also wins the bonus board the audience member gets a prize or some gifts. Viewers at home can play by going online and getting cards printed online. A lot of cards are generated by computer corresponding to the numbers called in the game. The game show has already finished two seasons, and has been a great success.
