Bingo Pattern: Chevron

Due to its immense simplicity, Bingo is popular among people from every nook and corner of the world. Online versions of the game were a major hit amongst people who prefer to enjoy their game in their living room at their own convenient times. Whether it is in a large Bingo hall or in a virtual online Bingo room, undoubtedly Bingo would be the most played game on the planet. Considering only the online sector of the game, the total revenue it makes is in excess of half a billion dollars. It is expected to double up within a year or two.

Since, the game has one of the largest players in the world, organizers never run out of ideas to maintain the charm of the game. Hundreds and hundreds of variations of Bingo have been created to make it livelier for the players. The game by itself hardly involves any human factor. Therefore, efforts have been made to change the odds in order to accommodate as much human factor as possible.

Major changes to the game are made by introducing new patterns. A pattern is nothing but a set of numbers placed in a peculiar manner. If a player gets all the numbers marked for this particular pattern, he or she is declared as the winner. One such pattern in Bingo is called the Chevron pattern. Chevron is essentially an upside down ‘V’ shape. The Chevron pattern consists of 5 numbers placed in an inverted ‘V’.

Chevron pattern can be played under four different versions namely Static, Moving, Crazy and Moving Crazy.

Static Chevron Pattern: There is exactly one pattern by which the player can get a static chevron pattern. A static Chevron pattern consists of the numbers in the third column of the first row, second and fourth columns of the second row and first and last columns on the third row. If the player has marked all of these five numbers, he or she has a static chevron pattern.

Moving Chevron Pattern: The static pattern has only one set pattern involving the first, second and third rows. The pattern remains the same for moving chevron. However, the moving patterns have three possibilities. First one is the same as static, while the second one involves the second, third and fourth rows and the third one requires the same pattern in the third, fourth and fifth rows.

Crazy Chevron Pattern: This pattern need not necessarily be an inverted ‘V’ shape. An upright ‘V’ or a ‘V’ shape in the sideways direction is also acceptable. Therefore it has four possibilities, one in each direction. Chevron patterns in the extreme top, bottom, left or right are only allowed.

Moving Crazy Chevron Pattern: This is a combination of the last two patterns and has a total of 12 possibilities. The ‘V’ shape can be in all the four directions and need not be in the extreme ends, unlike the crazy pattern. Thus, it is called a moving crazy chevron pattern.
